2am Chili
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon basil
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 4 teaspoons chili powder
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 1 tablespoon cayenne
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 3 to 4 cloves of garlic
- 1 onion
- 1 bell pepper
- 1 1/2 pounds of ground beef
- 1 15oz can of tomato sauce
- 1 15oz can of diced tomatoes
- 1 15oz can of corn
- 1 15oz can of kidney beans
- 1 can of beer (optional)
Directions
- Brown the beef in a skillet.
- Drain cans of corn and beans. Combine contents of all cans into pot. Bring pot to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer. Add meat when finished browning.
- Saute garlic, onion, and pepper in skillet. Add vegetables to pot.
- Add remaining ingredients to pot and mix.
- Cook for a few hours (longer cooking improves flavor). Can cook in pressure cooker at about 30 minutes at pressure.
- Serve with crackers and cheese.
Note: Can cook the spices in the grease left from browning the ground beef before cooking the vegetables for a richer flavor.
