Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 4 teaspoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 3 to 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 1 1/2 pounds of ground beef
  • 1 15oz can of tomato sauce
  • 1 15oz can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 15oz can of corn
  • 1 15oz can of kidney beans
  • 1 can of beer (optional)

Directions

  1. Brown the beef in a skillet.
  2. Drain cans of corn and beans. Combine contents of all cans into pot. Bring pot to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer. Add meat when finished browning.
  3. Saute garlic, onion, and pepper in skillet. Add vegetables to pot.
  4. Add remaining ingredients to pot and mix.
  5. Cook for a few hours (longer cooking improves flavor). Can cook in pressure cooker at about 30 minutes at pressure.
  6. Serve with crackers and cheese.

Note: Can cook the spices in the grease left from browning the ground beef before cooking the vegetables for a richer flavor.
